Can abdominal distention be due to fatty liver?
I recently underwent a CT scan for my abdomen which has indicated fatty liver. I have inflammation in my abdomen. Could it be because of the fatty liver? I'm interested in treating this from the root cause but not sure where to start.

No, fatty liver should not cause abdominal distension. If you say you have inflammation in your abdomen, I would need to know more about what that means and whether it was proven by endoscopy. It really cannot be diagnosed on a CT scan.
You should be evaluated by a GI and liver specialist. Fatty liver may lead to cirrhosis in some cases and should not be ignored.
