The best thing is to see a physical therapist that works with muscular dystrophy patients. Have a full assessment and based on your functionality level he/ she can recommend the best suited exercises to help you maintain or regain the beat functionality possible. Good Luck. Dr F. The general rule of thumb regarding exercise and muscle disease, is to stay physically active and to exercise - but not to the point of muscle fatigue.

Most important excercise is to keep your respiratory muscles in-tone, talk to a lung doctor to see if you can do pulmonary function tests, and go to pulmonary rehab. This will help prevent long term items like pneumonia.
