I'm having sealants put in and am wondering if I will need anesthesia for the procedure?

There is, in most instances, no need for drilling to apply sealants. For this reason, it is not a painful procedure and no anesthesia is required. Hope this helps.

It is generally not necessary to recommend anesthetic during the application of sealants as it is usually just a topical or brushed on and cured component of a restoration as a protective measure and does not involve pain

No. There is no drilling involved in sealants (maybe high speed polishing at the end, but no pain)!

Not at all. It’s very simple and painless.
