Are obsessive-compulsive disorder and drug addiction related?
My father was addicted to prescription painkillers for several years. He is clean now, but he has started behaving in ways that look to me like obsessive-compulsive disorder. Is OCD related to drug addiction?

Any mental health issue can be related to addiction as the brain may be seeking some kind of relief which substances can readily provide in the short term.
No, they are separate disorders, but can happen together to the same person.
