Naturopathic Doctors do not treat disease. They treat the patient, the person. No matter what the person is affected by, there are always opportunities to remove harm from their intake and add healthy behaviors or nutrients. Often, as you "add health" and "remove harm," diseases correct themselves.

Naturopaths are trained as Primary Care Providers and can see multiple diseases and topics of ailments. I recommend researching an ND for a specific condition. Some Naturopaths will prefer to only see patients with certain diseases. For example, there are some that only work with hormones, or only work with complex GI disorders. It varies a great deal, especially state to state.

It depends. Naturopathic Physicians can deal with primarily any disease however, in some states, they are limited in the ways they can practice and the options they can offer you. Even cancer can be dealt with usually as long as there is also a oncologist is onboard as well. Just a note: there is a difference between a Naturopathic Physician that is trained in a 4 year accredited University with Board exams, and a Naturopath that gets their degree online.

Honestly, no. I believe that a skilled, adequately trained naturopathic physician is able to optimize your health independent of particular diseases. With that said, you may still need a MD as part of your healthcare team.

You should not see a naturopathic doctor to treat emergency conditions. For any condition that you would otherwise go to an allopathic physician for in an out-patient setting, you can also go to a naturopathic doctor for natural alternatives to medications.

The physician you chose is always your decision. Naturopathic medicine relies moreso upon the natural bodily defenses. Dietary interventions, physical therapies, and herbal blends that will assist the body within the detoxification processes. A naturopathic physician should assist you within the knowledge, the education you, yourself need to support your very own healing process.
