My friend was in a car accident and they had to do emergency surgery because of some abdominal bleeding. She's okay now, but are there different kinds of abdominal bleeding that can occur from a car accident?

Yes. Bleeding can occur anywhere in the abdomen. Solid organs (kidney, liver, spleen) can bleed. Arteries and veins can bleed. Your entire abdomen is full of structures supplied by blood vessels, all can bleed.
