I'm sure I never want to have children, so this definitely seems like the best option for me. Is it painful to get a vasectomy?

Local anesthesia is given. At times, the procedure is performed under sedation in an outpatient center. Most people tolerate it with just numbing medicine. If pain is a major concern, discuss it with your doctor for options.

No, it is not painful. A few days after the procedure there is some tenderness. However, pain pills are prescribed to alleviate the pain.

If a vasectomy is performed with care under local anesthetic, it should be virtually painless.

Procedure is done with anesthesia, so it is not painful. Afterwards, depending on the amount of swelling, there is some discomfort.
