• Bleeding after a colonoscopy

Yesterday I had a colonoscopy that removed two small polyps. Last night I was able to pass bowel movement with no blood. Though after walking around the shops today I had a cramping in my stomach so I went to the toilet and there was a fair amount of blood, fresh-ish looking. and not much stool.

You are probably bleeding from the polypectomy site or from inflamed hemorrhoids due to cleanout process. Both are likely to clear up without intervention -seek advice from treating MD if not

Hi, this is not uncommon after a polypectomy. The colon prep can also irritate the hemorrhoids which can cause some bright red bleeding too Having said that it should only improve and you should see less and less blood. If that's not the case please reach out to your endoscopist.

This is most likely a post polypectomy bleeding. Most of these are self resolved. But you certainly need to be checked in the ER especially if you have several bloody bowel movements.

You should talk to your physician that did the colonoscopy. Some amount of bleeding after a scope is fine but it can also be serious especially if it’s ongoing or you have dizziness

Some blood can be from the area where the polyps were removed, but if this is more severe and if you are having significant pain you should contact your doctor and be seen.
