My mother had a bypass surgery one year ago, after which she has been prescribed certain medications. Every time she eats her blood thinner tablet she feels very sleepy and drowsy. Are blood thinners known to cause sleepiness?
No
No
Not that I know of. Maybe she takes all her medications at the same time, and her blood pressure drops. Would be interesting to check her blood pressure when she is drowsy.
Hi,
No, not to my knowledge, but after surgery, patients get (appropriate) meds for depression and pain, as well as anti-hypertension, if combined, can lower blood pressure, and make someone feel tired. Also, make sure no underlying sleep disorders or any combination that would cause those symptoms, normally not from blood thinners. Look into what I sent.
No, I'm not aware of such a side effect.
