I have a buzz sound in my ear. What could it be?

I can feel a buzzing sound in my ears and I am not sure what it is. My GP has not been able to diagnose it, and hasn't yet referred me to a specialist. Can you suggest what could this be?

If you are experiencing tinnitus, we suggest the first course of action be to make an appointment with an Audiologist to have a comprehensive hearing evaluation completed.

This is most likely tinnitus. Tinnitus is usually the result of a high frequency hearing loss, but it can be present in the absence of hearing loss. I would recommend your first step be to schedule a comprehensive hearing test with an audiologist in your area. There is not cure for tinnitus, but there are very effective treatments to compensate for it and lessen the impact on your daily life. Angela R.
