Any virus can cause fever. Are you sure it's a virus? If he seems very sick, you should contact his doctor.
It can. But if he is very sick appearing, he could have strep throat pneumonia appendicitis or UTI. These are just a few things that can mimic stomach virus. Also, if he gets dehydrated, he would need hydration even if it is a virus.
