I am a 22 year old female and I was diagnosed with anemia. Can anemia be cured?
Depending on the cause, you can take supplements to treat anemia.
Yes, it can. You need to eat more foods that contain iron; red meat and liver are really good, and vegetables.
Usually yes, but it depends on the cause.
Sincerely,
Emily M. Christman, MD
In a 22-year-old female it is almost certainly caused by iron deficiency, which most menstruating ladies have. Ask the doctor who told you about it which iron supplement s/he recommends; if the anemia is mild you may be fine with just an iron-containing vitamin pill a day.
