• Can anesthesia cause memory loss?

After surgery under general anesthesia my son had memory loss for a short period of time. It was only short-term but it was still concerning. Can anesthesia cause memory loss? My son's 15 years old.

Some anesthetic drugs such as Versed are intentionally administered because they cause short term memory loss. If this memory loss was for a few hours, it is not a cause for concern and may be a normal result of the medications administered.
