Can babies die from anesthesia?

My son is 4 years old. He needs to have a surgery under anesthesia. Can babies die from anesthesia?

Anybody can die. It’s very uncommon. You are putting your child at more risk driving down the street in your car.

Death under anesthesia is not so common, but could happen.
