Can you explain sickle-cell anemia?
My friend is 23 year old and he was diagnosed with sickle-cell anemia. What is sickle-cell anemia? Is it serious?

Check out the Mayo Clinic's information, which you can easily find online. If it took until age 23 to diagnose, it may just be sickle trait and not sickle disease.
