I have upper abdominal pain and a fever. What could be causing this?
UPPER abdominal pain has multiple probable causes. Age is an important factor. In this question we do not have the age of the patient. However the most common causes of upper abdominal pain are: heartburn, gastritis, peptic ulcers, gallstones or pancreatitis. Musculoskeletal issues and respiratory conditions including lung infections like pneumonia can cause upper abdominal pain. You need to go see your PCP as soon as possible or go to an Urgent care center to have it evaluated. They need a physical examination and blood work to diagnose it. This can't be diagnosed virtually.
