My wife is 37 years old and is undergoing chemotherapy sessions for breast cancer. She feels extremely tired and drained out after her chemotherapy sessions. Is it normal? Should be on some kind of supplements to regain her lost strength?

This is common but discuss the situation with the doctors.

Fatigue is one of the most common side effects of chemotherapy, and cancer treatment in general. Thus, during treatment, adequate rest is recommended. Nutritional supplements such as vitamin B12 help to boost energy. I recommend that your wife discuss the addition of this supplement with her medical oncologist.

This is common reaction to chemotherapy. She just has to rest. it will pass in a few weeks after she complete treatment.

The patient can feel tired and exhausted after treatment because of mental stress and some side effects from chemotherapy. Make sure her blood count was not too low and she gets enough rest. If symptoms persist, she should let her oncologist know.

Most people feel lethargic after chemotherapy. Supplements have not shown to be helpful. However, eating a sensible balanced diet and regular exercise may help.
