I have been reading a few things about collagen and its benefits and side effects. Should I take this to ease the pain of my fibromyalgia and joint pain or is there too great a risk?

Collagen is unlikely to help fibromyalgia or arthritis pain. Most of oral collagen is broken down in the stomach or intestines and never even gets absorbed. What might help fibromyalgia pain is a diet which avoids a group of foods called nightshades. Tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini , paprika, peppers of all sorts red peppers, green peppers, table pepper. Only 1 of these may be causing the pain. A diet that avoids all of them for 5 days, then restart 1 at a time, would tell which one is causing the pain. Then avoid just that one. Usually pain is increased within a day if it occurs Other pain relief is all by prescription. Leon Rosenberg
