It's best to wait 5-7days after your period is overdue to do a urine pregnancy test, as it takes time for urine bhcg levels to rise and you'll likely get false negatives if you check too soon.
There are many different tests on the market, and some of them maintain they're sensitive enough to detect hCG, or human chorionic gonadotropin, which is the hormone that increases in your blood in your urine when you are pregnant, as early as a week after conception. These tests, however, are not 100% reliable. The most reliable home tests are those that are administered 1 to 2 weeks after a missed period.
