• Do you get a spinal block or epidural for a C-section?

I am a 28 year old female. I want to know if you get a spinal block or epidural for a C-section?

Spinal is the preferred method for a scheduled C section. If you are in labor with an epidural and need a C section, the epidural can be used.

If it is a scheduled C-section, you will receive a spinal. If you already have an epidural in place (because you have been in labor), the epidural will be used if you proceed to a C-section.

Both work very well for C-section. The choice depends on the preferences of the anesthesiologist, the time pressure for the delivery, and the patient's preferences.

Any one of them.
