• Does the fitness tracker band show the actual heart rate?

I am a 39 year old man and I constantly wear a fitness tracker on my wrist. My heart rate shows high even when I am resting. How accurate are the fitness trackers?

Pretty accurate. I would see your doctor and get an ECG, 48 hour holter, lab and if warranted an echocardiogram of the heart.

If someone has a normal heart rhythm, it is fairly accurate. Also, it depends on body habitus; if a person has a tremor, it might be off.

You need to check the accuracy of your fitness tracker. You can do this by counting your own pulse by putting your fingers on your wrist where you can feel your pulse and counting for one minute. If the tracker is correct, you need to see a cardiologist to assess why you have a fast resting heart rate. Your resting heart rate should be around 50-60 at your age.

Yes I think so, but you can take your pulse for 15 sec and multiply, times 4.

They are not very accurate and minimal motion is sometimes detected as heart rate.
