• For a skin grafting procedure, are you given general or local anesthesia?

My brother is having a skin grafting procedure done, and is very nervous about it. Will he be given general anesthesia or local anesthesia?

You are usually given both general anesthesia and local anesthesia so that you are asleep while the procedure is done and you awake with no pain.

This is surgeon dependent. It also depends on the size of the graft but anything larger than a graft for a finger or hand typically requires general anesthesia.
