I had a hernia surgery more than 5 years ago and I cannot ejaculate. Why?

Unfortunately, this may be nerve damage. But could be side effects of medications as well.

It is very unlikely the hernia surgery caused the problem. Recommend that you see a urologist to see what may be causing the problem.
