How common is retinoschisis?
My son (he's an adult, 40 years old) has been diagnosed with retinoschisis and he wasn't experiencing any symptoms before his diagnosis. Is this a common retina disorder?

Not in a 40-year-old. Make sure he sees an ophthalmologist, preferably a retinal specialist.
Not so common
It's very rare.
