• How effective is the rubella vaccination?

We want to have our son vaccinated for rubella and were wondering its effectiveness.

According to CDC: MMR vaccine is very safe and effective. One dose of the MMR vaccine is about 97% effective at preventing rubella.

It is usually about 93% effective with 1 vaccine and 97% effective after the 2nd vaccine. It was close to irradication in the US until the herd immunity has decreased from decreased vaccination rates
