I am a 55 year old female. I will have cataract surgery next month. How long does cataract surgery last?

It should last forever. May need to open the back of the remaining lens bag, but that would be done with a YAG laser, not surgery.

Once a cataract is removed, it cannot come back. The membrane we leave behind gets cloudy behind the implant over 2 to 3 years and a laser takes care of this. When the cataract is removed, unless you get other eye diseases, you will see well for the rest of your life.

Actual procedure will be 10-15 minutes. Implant will last 150 years.

It varies. It could be anywhere from five to thirty minutes depending on the surgeon, the technique involved, and any add-on procedures.

The procedure should last your lifetime.

Cataract surgery is permanent. Cataracts, once removed completely, do not grow back. The implant replacement lasts a lifetime without wearing out.

I have seen a few done in 7 minutes! Average time: 15-20 mins.

The fifteen minutes of operation would correct the cataract for life. After cataracts or pco can occur later and require a Yag laser to fix the problem.
