Hello. Recovery is usually 5 days. Most patients complain of soreness. Pain medication helps a lot. Garment is worn for a few weeks. Most go back to work after one week. You can visit my website at DrRoya.com for further information.

We like you to go for a gentle walk the evening of surgery and start 25% of your usual exercise activity at day 5. Your muscles have not been disturbed in this procedure- you are just sore and tire easily.

The average recovery time following abdominal liposuction is 4 weeks. After this time, most patients are able to resume their normal exercise routine.

Hello! Thank you for your question. Recovery from liposuction alone is usually a much shorter process than when you combine that with an abdominoplasty. I usually tell my patient that you can expect to be sore for about one week with liposuction but most are able to return to work by week two. The swelling associated with the procedure and the final results can take up to 3 to 6 months to see!

In general, for just liposuction, you will need to take off of work for at least a week. As far as hard physical activity, we ask our patients to wait anywhere from 6-8 weeks before working out, getting in a pool, etc.

Hi,

Thank you for your question. It all depends on how much liposuction is required to obtain your optimal results. My patients are ambulating, leaving the outpatient center following the procedure with minimal discomfort.
