How should I care for a child with a fever?
My 8 year old son has a fever. I am treating him and have taken him to see the pediatrician. What else can I do?

Try to keep his temperature low by cold water strips .
Fever is not a bad thing. It is body’s way of fighting any kind of infection. If he has a bacterial infection he needs antibiotics. But if it is viral then he just needs supportive care. Low grade fevers do not need any medication unless he is miserable. Generally fluids are good.
Encourage fluids. You can give ibuprofen and get rechecked if fever persists
