• How to treat a child with bone cancer?

My 12 year old son was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. We were told it is a cancer involving the bones. What are the treatment options?

Chemotherapy and surgery are the treatment options. Your son's Oncologist will chose the best chemotherapy option based on certain features of the cancer.

It depends on which bone is involved and if other bones are involved if it is the inherited type and if it is the aggressive type. Some can be removed. Some require chemotherapy and surgery
