• How will mitral valve prolapse be treated while pregnant?

I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse a few months after finding out that I was pregnant. My OB-GYN said that usually pregnant women with mitral valve prolapse do not have much to worry about. But, me being me, I still worry. What will the treatment be like for this disorder?

Most MVP depending on ist severity are not a concern as stated by your OB. However it is best to have it sirvellance during the pregnancy. A co-management with a perinatologist and consulration wirh cardiologist is a good idea.
