• What tests can indicate the reason for my chest congestion?

I am having severe chest congestion. I have done an X-ray but that hasn't indicated anything significant. What tests can I do to know the reason behind my chest congestion?

It depends on what your definition of chest congestion is. Congestion can mean inflammation such as bronchitis or pneumonia or fluid back up such as congestive heart failure. With that being said. What it depends upon is getting to the root cause of “congestion" and going from there.

Thank you and all the best.

Chest CT may be helpful. Echocardiogram may also be helpful.

Please see your primary care and discuss a referral to a pulmonologist (physician who specializes in chest/pulmonary disorders). I do not recommend obtaining medical imaging without your physician's supervision.
