• Does an internist work only in hospital settings?

I have completed my Internal Medicine course and want to go further in this field. Would I need to work in hospital setting or can I work alongside an internist in a private clinic?

They can work as full-time "hospitalists" in the hospital, and also in the office setting. Many internist doctors do both!

An internist can work in many setting- hospital both as hospitalist or just rounding on their own patients from their practice, office practice or SNF/long term care setting
