• At what age can I introduce my child to coconut water?

My daughter is 2 years old and I would for her to start drinking coconut water. Is there any age where it's safe to introduce coconut water in her everyday diet?

Every day she can have 6 ounces of coconut water to maintain electrolyte balance. You can start at this age.

Coconut water is fine to give in small amounts from 6-12 months and in regular amounts in children over 1.

Babies over 6 months of age can be given coconut water, unless there is strong family history of Coconut allergy. In that case, consult your pediatrician.

It’s safe to introduce the infant to coconut water at the age of 6 months when the immune system is more developed. However, as with all other new foods, it has to be introduced one at a time for 4-5 days to watch for an allergic reaction. Coconut water is generally not allergenic.

Pure coconut water from fresh coconuts can be introduced age 6 months and older. Most of the coconut water in tetrapacks have added sugar in them, so watch out for those, they are not as beneficial.
