My son will have an appendix operation as his doctor suggested. Is an appendix operation dangerous?

The main risk is anesthesia. It is better to get it out before it ruptures. This gets infection in the abdomen and lengthens the stay and need for antibiotics. You also have risk of infection of the wound and nicking the gut.
