I am a 29 year old female. I will have a scheduled C-section. Is C-section a major surgery?

Yes, it is not minor.
Yes it is a major surgery. If the C-section is not a have to thing then I would urge you to have regular birth. No matter what you do it will be major procedure. Take care of yourself and I send congratulations to you . I do wish you well , oledochouse
Yes with about a 6 week recovery.
