• Is a chiropractic activator safe for babies?

We wanted to take my baby for a chiropractic adjustment because he's colic, but the chiropractor wanted to use an activator on him. Is a chiropractic activator safe for babies?

Activators are a gentle way of spinal manipulation. It is a localized low pressure force specifically designed for sensitive/tender areas. Personally, It is what I would recommend for young children.

Chiropractic adjustments can be safe for people of all ages and conditions. Obviously, a chiropractic adjustment for a baby and elderly person with osteoporosis is different than one delivered to a 26-year old athlete. For a baby or toddler, a chiropractic adjustment using sustained pressure or Activator instrument impulse through the doctor's thumb is an excellent way to help stimulate the healing process. Personally, I have had the honor of adjusting a 7-day old in which I have used both techniques.

Activator technique is a tool assisted Chiropractic technique that can be modified to treat any age of patient. Each Certified Activator provider is highly trained to treat any age group within that technique.

No problem. The activator instrument is effective, safe, and fully accepted in the Chiropractic profession. By the way, I was taken for my first visit to a Chiropractor when I was 4 days old for colic.

I see no reason to be concerned with that.

Absolutely, extremely safe. The infants I adjust with it, if they are sleeping, will sleep right through it.

Yes, it is safe. Most chiropractors are trained to treat infants very successfully.

Absolutely. An activator tool may be used very precisely like a regular manipulation by hand. Some doctors prefer to use it on children because the contact point is smaller.
