I am a 22 year old male. I want to know if it is bad to keep mouthwash in your mouth too long?

Yes, especially if it is an alcohol-based mouthwash.

What kind of mouthwash, and are you talking 30 seconds or...? Alcohol is a drying ingredient. Some mouthwash stains teeth. Keeping it in your mouth minutes is not necessary.

Yes, especially if you have high alcohol content in the mouthwash, and if it is chlorhexidine mouthwash, it has a higher tendency to stain your teeth.

While I am not sure why you would do this, there should be no real harm to this practice.

Over one minute is a waste of time. If rinse contains alcohol, over 1 min could cause long-term harm.

I guess it depends on how long we are talking, but no, traditionally it is not bad to keep mouthwash in your mouth too long.

Most normal rinses are used for about 30 seconds and then spit it out
