• Is it more common to work a 12-hour shift instead of 8?

I am studying to be a nurse and will graduate next fall. Is it more common to work a 12-hour shift instead of 8?

Yes, it is unfortunately most common to work 12 hr days.

Yes. 12-hr shifts are the norm. 8-hr shifts are rather uncommon (unless you work at an ambulatory practice).
