I am a 30 year old male. I will be having jaw surgery next week. Is jaw surgery painful?
Post op pain varies.
Once you are in pacu you will experience discomfort. But you get pain medication as needed.
Typically not anywhere near your expectations. The area will usually feel quite numb for a period of time afterwards, and that helps.
At times, it is. Unfortunately, we are all different and we all react in different ways to surgery and general anesthesia. Yet, for the most part, you will be given a Rx for pain medication to manage your post-op aches and pains.
