Is nebulization the same as steam?

Is nebulization the same as steam?

I have heard nebulization gives instant relief in cases of a cough and cold. Is it the same as taking in steam? I have never used a nebulizer machine before, so I'm wondering what is exactly is this process?

no. nebulizer uses compressed air supplement to deliver small particles of the liquid medication to lower respiratory tract; steam merely humidifies it

Nebulization is not the same as steam; it refers to the generation of very small particles for inhalation. The particles usually consist of a bronchodilator medicine to help improve breathing by dilating the airways in the lungs.
