I'm 32, male, and I play tennis 5 times a week. I've been doing this for about a few months, but now my elbow hurts in the evenings. Is playing tennis too often causing my elbow problems?

Most likely. Cut back. Get started on a good rehab program. Gradual return to sport.

Possibly. Rest and ice and anti-inflammatories are a way to reduce the pain. By holding off on tennis, or playing less, it will give you insight if you are playing too frequently or possibly stroke mechanics are stressing your elbow.

It is likely your tennis play is aggravating your elbow condition. Do you perform gentle stretching and warm up prior to playing? Sounds like possibly “Tennis Elbow” or Lateral Epicondylitis. Maybe the tension in your racket Is not correct for you. You should be evaluated by an orthopedist.

Yes is the short answer. Tennis elbow is an overuse injury. You are overusing your elbow. Rest, ice, ibuprofen 3 tabs 3 times a day, and use of a tennis elbow strap will help.
