• Is surgery the only way to remove a bunion?

My podiatrist examined my bunion the other day and cited that it could only be removed with surgery. I think this is a little extreme, and if it's not necessary, I don't want to spend the money (I'm uninsured so it would be out-of-pocket). Is surgery really the only to remove my bunion?

Yes. A bunion is a structural bony deformity. Surgery is the only was to "remove" or correct this deformity.
