• Is there a difference between an ER doctor and a trauma surgeon?

I want to know, what is the difference between an ER doctor and a trauma surgeon? Do both of them work in the ER?

Yes. A trauma surgeon only handles traumatic injury. An Emergency Physician handles acute medical complaints as well as trauma. They work in conjunction with each other but have different skill sets.

Yes. Trauma surgeons can go to the OR with their patients. ER docs are able to see patients with any complaint in the ER, from colds to medical complaints (heart attacks, etc.), and manage the initial presentation of trauma.
