As stated in the title my left shoulder is wider than my right, it is not a small difference either. I am 21 years old, right handed, I go to the gym and my right shoulder will start to hurt when I perform certain movements, mostly movements similar to the one performed in a bench press. This pain is also accompanied with loss of strength. My right clavicle has a bump on the middle which, according to the internet and a physician I visited, is a sign of a fracture, even though I don't recall being injured there nor do my parents. Any advice on what to do to diagnose/recover would be appreciated, thank you.
Visiting with a sports medicine physician to review your Xrays and evaluate formally a physical exam would be helpful. There are several possibilities with a broad set of symptom described here. Larry Balle II, MD, MPH.
Hello, Ill admit that this is tough to answer with being able to examine you. It does sound like there has been some remote trauma to your right shoulder, but its almost impossible for me to diagnose whats going on without more information. I would encourage you to be as active with the arm as your comfort allows. Christopher Chuinard MD, MPH Traverse City, Mi.
Thanks for the question. If there is pain, motion lossrestriction, or deformity, you may consider seeing and orthopaedic doctor for the shoulder condition. It may be an old injury that simple radiographs xrays will demonstrate. There may be some subtle motion differences that are causing your pain. Often, a proper shoulder rehabilitation program can be prescribed and is usually beneficial.
It's not fracture without injury. Seek consultation from a doctor and make sure to inquire about bone AND vascular issues.
Looks like you may some muscle tightness along with your pain. I recommend you visit a PT. Have you taken any X-rays for the same?
You need to see an orthopedic surgeon. I would be concerned for a tumor.
It's possible that you have muscle atrophy in your right shoulder. This could have resulted from your broken clavicle or it could be a more serious issue such as a herniated disc in your neck. You should see a physical therapist for a complete evaluation of the neck and shoulder. That will determine your next course of action
It would be best for you to see a physician near you for treatment.
You need imaging for your clavicle to Asess the healing that took place and to evaluate the possibility of weakness being the result of that previous injury. A shoulder evaluation by a specialist is needed
You have a compression occurring on your brachial plexus and possibly a congenital vascular system causing this. Your clavicle without history of contact hit like my broken clavicle at LSU nite football game still with a bump, but yours could be an exostosis, or benign or worse growth on it affecting this side,
I recommend immediate evaluation as you know this is not normal and noticeable.

I think you will need an urgent orthopaedic review, including an X-ray to find out why you have a bump in the clavicle
See a physical therapist for an evaluation and you will be further assisted.
You may be having impingement of the shoulder and should seek treatment from a physical therapist.
