• My son gets blood clots while playing. What could be the reason?

My son is 7 years old and of late I have observed that he gets black spots while playing. The clots appear around his thigh area and are particularly more prominent when he runs a lot. What could be the reason for this?

Hello, this seems to be a hematologic or bleeding issue. You should consult with a pediatric hematologist. I wish him well.

Hello and thank you for your question. You state in your question that your son has a tendency to develop blood clots. I would strongly encourage you to follow up with a physician specialized in Hematology or Vascular Surgery. Best of luck.

Without an image of the black spots, it is difficult to say very much. I recommend you take him to see his pediatrician, or travel to the nearest university hospital. I would start with Pediatric Dermatology. Take good pictures of the lesions, in case they are not present at the time of the doctor visit.

If they are indeed blood collections, I would see a vascular surgeon at a reputable institution.
