My 14 year old son picked wax from his ear and now has ear pain. My son has ear pain after picking wax from his ear?

What is he using to pick the wax out? He could be causing irritation to the skin. We forget that the skin is fairly sensitive and not as exposed to the elements as other areas are.
Probably has injury to ear canal. Stop all picking forever. If pain persists, see ENT.
