• What are the first few steps to take if a patient goes into hypokalemia?

My mother-in-law's potassium levels are dropping and she could go into a hypokalemia state at any time. Are there any steps that we should take in case this happens?

First, you should investigate the cause of hypokalemia with your doctor. Meanwhile, I recommend drinking orange juice, coconut water, and eating dates or bananas. These are all foods with relatively high potassium. Hypokalemia symptoms may include muscle weakness and cramps.
