• Is it normal for your period to be delayed after the first time having sex?

My husband and I waited to have sex until we were married. But, now my period is a little bit delayed. Is this normal, or could I be pregnant?

I recommend that you get a pregnancy test. You can buy over the counter or go to your pcp to be further evaluated

No. You are possibly pregnant. Not normal.

This depends on how many days your period is delayed. Pregnancy is definitely one possibility, but hormonal shifts in connection with strong emotions is also a possibility. If the issue persists, you should get your pregnancy tested.

Hi! It could be a posibility, to make sure, do a pregnancy test. Even if it is the first time, you could get pregnant. If you don’t want to get pregnant, once the pregnancy test is done, blood test or urine test, you should go to your OBGYN to let know your situation and once it is discarted, you can receive orientarion about the different methods of contraception that is fit to you. Hope this helps.

Both are possibilities. It would be a good idea to do a urine hCG (pregnancy) test to find out. These can be purchased at a local pharmacy.
