• What precautions are necessary when interacting with cancer patients?

I volunteer for a non-profit organization where I deal with cancer patients. What precautions should I take to maintain my health and those I work with?

You should wash your hands and use mask when in the patient's room. If you are sick or have any kind of illness do not visit cancer patients

You should encourage the patients in a goal of aggressively defeating their cancer.

Avoid contact when you are sick. Wear a mask (you and the patient). Thorough hand washing.

The cancer patients are most at risk from immunocompetent individuals. Therefore if the patient is immunocompromised then wearing gloves mask and staying away from them when sick is the best course of action.
