Is there any way to prevent whooping cough from spreading?
I am a school principal and 3 students from one class have been diagnosed with a whooping cough infection. How can we prevent this disease from spreading?

Close contacts and family members of a documented case of Pertussis can be given Azithromycin, if not allergic or at risk of toxicity, for 14 days. Vaccine is 80 to 90 percent effective in prevention.
